Day 3, 11. July

SCANDINAVIAN MUSIC, BBQ AND FRIENDS

As the day starts foggy we go down to the restaurant next to the harbour. We have a cup of tea and watch all the funny looking people around us. We see a long bearded guy that turns out to be the pianist of a band that plays tonight. In fact it is nice to see that the musicians themselves are enjoying, watching and listening the festival acts. Everybody was making such a long way to this island, so it is to take the most out of it. All the artist are very emotional and happy to play on this island, they have real fun and share it with the audiance. It is truely a special event!

This day we make a walk on the island. When we do our foodshopping it is already 6 o‘clock and they woud not sell us beer anymore, as the general norwegian law says. A strange thing for us Swiss. The cashier must have looked into many surprised faces of all those foreigners. We buy a onewaybarbeque and grill close by the water while the sun is coming back and warms up our rock. It is the first time we use a onewaybarbeque, a very Norwegian thing to do.

After dinner we have another great concert night. There is an amazing jazz/rock band called Pixel. Ayoung girl is playing on the contrabass and singing with her bright voice. Then a Norwegian soul bandnamed Nosizwe is having their concert. Apart from soul they play groovie funk and blues. We also seea gig with a indie rock band which is great.This night we get to know two siblings from sweden, stockholm. We sit with them and some other neighbours on the campground enjoying the early morning sun. We are amazed again, how it never gets dark.
